yogurt cake with butter cream topping

A very easy and yummy dessert,it needs only your daily kitchen ingredients. Make it and enjoy it!

Lets get started! :)


3/4 cup yogurt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup sugar
1tsp essence
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour(maida)
1tsp baking powder
1/2tsp baking soda
a pinch of salt

For the icing

40grms butter
200grms icing sugar


In a bowl, mix together yogurt,milk,oil,sugar, and essence and whip it till you form a smooth solution.

In another large bowl sift together maida,baking powder,soda and salt.

Pour the yogurt solution a little at a time, and form a smooth batter.

Grease a microwave proof dish. pour the batter in it, bake it on high for 3 minutes.

Take out the cake and let it cool.

For the icing : Take the butter in a bowl and beat it till its light, now add the castor sugar a little at a time and whip it till its smooth and forms soft peaks.

Assembling : Carefully cut the cake in two layers. On the lower layer apply a solution of sugar and water (1:1), then apply half of the butter cream on it and spread evenly.
Put the 2nd layer and apply remaining butter cream on the whole cake.

Make soft peaks all over the cake and decorate with some tutti-fruti !!

Yogurt cake with butter cream topping is ready!
